Add a surname
No account needed. A surname on the national list of Chinese surnames is public as soon as it is added; any other waits for a site administrator to approve it. One you added you can take off again during this visit; your name is seen only by the site administrators.
Give an old name
No need to sign in. One at a time, 1 to 12 Chinese characters. It becomes public once a system administrator approves it, and a search by it then finds this village; only system administrators see the name you give.
Ask for a new name

Is the name wrong, or has it changed? Write the right one: a system administrator reviews it before it takes effect. The old name is usually kept as an old name, so a search for it still finds the place.

A message is at most 120 characters, plain text; the only web addresses it may carry are YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Wikipedia and Baidu Baike ones. The name, place and message are shown publicly.

Check in to say hello; to leave your Facebook or Instagram page, so people from your village can reach you; to share a YouTube video of the village, or its encyclopedia page; or to ask a question.

Submit a video
The video's link on its site - Bilibili, Douyin, Xigua, Kuaishou, YouTube and the like; the whole text a share button copies will do. A system administrator reviews it; once approved it is public on this page, without who submitted it, and only system administrators see the name you give.
